What exactly is Therapy and Counseling?
Professional Counseling and Therapy are forms of treatment for issues surrounding your mental health. Counseling and Therapy can help with single and specific issues, such as transitional periods and immediate stressor, to more serious and persistent mental health issues, such as anxiety and depression.

What’s the difference between Counseling and Therapy?
In Counseling, we focus on short-term treatment with the goal of resolving immediate issues. In Therapy, we focus more on long-term goals with an emphasis on treating deep-rooted problems and patterns. In other words, Counseling is a more immediate and solution focused approach, while Therapy is a more comprehensive and exploratory process.

How can Therapy and Counseling help me?
Both Therapy and Counseling give you space and time to focus on processing issues affecting your daily life. In my experience people intuitively know what’s best for themselves and we will use your intuition to help guide the direction of treatment. Both Therapy and Counseling can help provide you relief from symptoms while also helping you discover insights about yourself and what you both want and need in your life.

What is your approach to Therapy and Counseling?
There is no “one-size fits all” approach to Therapy and Counseling. In my office, we’ll focus on developing goals that are specific to your needs and collaborate to determine what’s clinically appropriate for you. While I implement a number of modalities from the mental health field, I primarily utilize a Person-Centered and Cognitive Behavioral approach. These styles focus on building a professional relationship that balances active listening and empathy, while maintaining accountability and challenging unhealthy patterns.

Do you provide virtual Therapy and Counseling?
Yes. I’m able to accommodate both in-person and and virtual services. We’ll discuss which format you prefer and make change based on your need. .

Do you prescribe medication?
No. However, we can discuss if medication is right for you. If you choose to pursue this option, you can talk with your primary care physician. I can also help refer you to a psychiatrist if that is your preference.

What issues do you treat?
I’ve provided Therapy and Counseling services for a variety of issues in my near 20-year career. Depression, anxiety, personal growth, life transitions, men’s issues, trauma and PTSD, relational issues, co-dependency, self-esteem, and identity issues are all within my scope of practice.

Where do you provide services?
My office is located in downtown Lawrenceville, just a couple of blocks from the old courthouse. I also service the surrounding cities of Dacula, Buford, Grayson, Snellville, and Suwanee.
